This special edition of Parody of Pleasure is only available through the Lydia Night store. Limited to 500 copies, it’s pressed on baby pink vinyl, comes in a single jacket, and includes a signed album insert.
Parody of Pleasure marks Lydia Night's bold solo debut, a consciously pop-leaning collection born from instinct and a release of previous inhibitions. Executive-produced by Lydia alongside producer Alexis Kesselman (Suki Waterhouse, Joji), the album reveals the full spectrum of her musicality while retaining the independent spirit she's embodied since age 15, navigating themes of self-discovery and the complexities of modern womanhood with a blend of subversive humor, raw vulnerability, and unapologetic self-possession, ultimately transforming the pop genre into a powerful vehicle for personal confession and catharsis. Reflecting on the making of the 13-track project, Night notes that assuming complete creative control over the album profoundly reshaped her sense of self. “Reclaiming my creativity gave me real confidence and made me feel cool in a whole new way, and I think you can hear that in the music,” she says “I hope that everyone takes whatever they need from the record—but no matter what, I hope that it helps them to feel more love for themselves, because that’s what my favorite music has always done for me."
